Frequently asked questions
What is PreRouted?
PreRouted is a travel deal and search website that helps you travel more for less.
1. We introduce the stopover travel hack, publish stopover deals, and let you search for them!
2. We publish 1000s of live flight deals from over 175 locations, both direct bargains and clever multi-destination trips with one or two stopovers.
3. We provide a search feature to let you discover the best routes for your chosen dates and/or destinations.
Note: The βstopover travel hackβ is where you replace a direct flight with two cheaper flights via an extra destinationβgiving you another place to visit while spending less.
What are stopover (multi-destination) routes?
Go to a 2nd city, explore it for a day (or more) before continuing to your original destination, often
saving Β£100s and getting to explore some fantastic intermediate locations in the process!
PreRouted's search will hunt down the cheapest route for you, be that the direct route or with one or two
stopovers, based on your destination and/or date.
Note: No layover flights are shown on PreRouted. The point is to find enjoyable routes to save money and explore new places, and layovers aren't fun. Each step is a single direct journey.
Deal finder
PreRouted scours direct return routes in order to find you the best deals at the moment. At any time there are usually surprising deals available if you know when and where to look. We find them for you and display them all on the website, updating the deals regularly.
Won't all the cheap deals you show have horrible layovers?
No! For now, PreRouted is only displaying routes with direct flights between the locations displayed. The idea of PreRouted journeys is to help people travel more, have more adventures, and spend less in the process. The idea of a 20-hour connecting flight is not the kind of adventure we are hoping you'll find!
Are stopovers the same as layovers?
No, they're very different! A layover is a connection between flights where you normally wait at the airport. A PreRouted stopover is an intentional destination: you leave the airport and spend at least a day exploring before taking your next (direct) flight on. Each leg shown on PreRouted is a separate direct journey. With layovers you wait in the terminal, often for hours, which can make your journey feel a lot longer and more tiring than a direct or stopover route. With stopover routes the intention is to visit a new location and save money - exploring a new city/beach/culture, resting in local hotels or b&bs, and tasting new the local cuisine, before continuing on to your next destination.
Does the stopover always come before my chosen destination?
No. A multi-destination route can visit the extra destination before or after your chosen destination, depending on which order offers the better price. Results can also include different lengths of stay in each place, with the best-value available routes shown first.
Why can't I search from my location?
Search is available for the departure locations and destinations currently listed in the search form. We would love to hear your feedback if there is another location you would like us to support. Give feedback here.
Which dates and trip lengths can I search?
You can search available dates over the next nine months. One-way searches can use any available date in that period; return searches are limited to trips of up to two weeks. For a longer trip, search the outbound and return journeys separately as two one-way searches.
What does "PreRouted" mean?
Routes are set in advance, so they are pre-routed. Our stopover routes are also an intentional re-routing of a direct journey through more destinations. "PreRouted" combines these two ideas.
